Internet and the Web on Media
I think the internet has really allowed the media to report almost up to the minute news. Verdicts being read in court in high profile cases can almost be viewed immediately. I remember when OJ Simpson was on trial and our newspaper was late coming to our house because the local press didn’t want to print the paper until they knew the verdict. Today that wouldn’t even be an issue. There is no need to wait anymore you can almost get up to the minute news now that we have such outlets as twitter and blogs.
The internet and television/newspaper reporting have begun to be almost one in the same. I can watch clips from the news on the website or read an article from the local newspaper just by looking it up online.
I also look at the internet as a way of saving the environment. Now people can subscribe to the newspaper they would get at home online. There is no need for the wasted material that just gets thrown away after reading anyway.
