How to make a toilet paper tube octopus

Materials:
Hot Glue Gun
Toilet Paper Tube
Toilet paper
Paint Brush
Paint (it says use purple, but I let the child choose)
Googly Eyes
Black Marker
Scissors
I have done this project a couple of times. The groups that I did this with were between the ages of 3(older 3) to 6. Each time we made them we were working on an ocean theme.
The video walks you through each step needed to create the octopus. This video has you use toilet paper to create the top of the octopus. Personally I found this to be a frustrating step (as a teacher trying to help 10-20 students complete this). Instead I cut two slits on either side and stapled the tube in the center. The kids were just as happy with the final outcome.

  1. Hi, Meaghan!

This is sooo adorable! I wish my son were a little bit older so I could do all these activities with him now. I really love the bubble letters blog you did as well! I can't imagine trying to do this with 10 kids though, so kudos to you on that! Thanks for all these ideas, your blog is so creative and the activities are simple enough for even me to do! :-)
